Cost is affecting everyone this days and most of everyone are worrying about their mortgages and the rising cost of gasoline, fortunately some computers packages do come a with web cam or you can get a web cam for the cost of $20.00-$1,200.00. Logitech Cams can run you as low as $15.00 to $130.00, yes there is D-link cams, Linksy’s WVC11B and so on. If your computer already comes with a web cam and you want to convert it into a security surveillance camera, there is no need to spend thousand of dollars when you can install a software for as low as $99.00 dollar and your computer can now store video of anything or anyone that happen to happened while you were away. There is more to it, you don’t have to pay any monthly fee and for the rest of your lifetime the updates are free.
Here is a list of your benefits:
- View Remotely from any location Via Internet. (Optional)
- Uses your Computer’s IP address to remotely log on
- Motion Activated
- Alert by e-mail
- Up load to an FTP Site
- Operate secretly on your computer
- Use any Web Cam you have
- Use any Hidden Cam
- use any wireless Camera
- Use any IP Camera
- No Monthly fees
- Use your existing PC
- Set up is less than 5 minutes
- Use a Grabee X to convert standard camera into a digital camera
- Can be use in an office or home environment
- All video are store on a local Visec file on your PC
- Date and Time Stamped on your Video
If you honestly want to save on the expense of a security surveillance software without spending a fortune then the Visec is an ideal software to use. You do not have to open your computer, do not have to install a modem or DVR card, no need to try to figure out an extra IP address, and many options to use your Visec Security Software. Better Yet SOME DVRS AND DVR CARDS ARE SOLD OUT THERE WITH THE INTENTION THAT WHEN YOU INSTALL THEM, YOU WILL WATCH YOUR VIDEO IMMEDIATELY ON THE INTERNET, THAT IS NOT TRUE. YOU NEED TO HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE OR ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE ON COMPUTER TO HAVE THOSE OPTIONS WORKING. Having said so the Visec will ask you if you do not have a DSL Line and want it to Dial up into the Internet for remote viewing an option that is left to you. If you are having a problem with setting up the VISEC, for a mere $50-$60 dollars your router and computer will be configured from a remote site where engineers will work on your computer network on an appointment base. All of these information will be on your CD.
I personally have suggested the use of FTP storage, why? if your computer was stolen, you do not have to worry because your pictures are saved on a remote web server. The fee for a remote storage goes for as low as $51.00 a year on www.godaddy.com or for $19.00 every month the Visec engineers can set it up for you. I recommend the use of FTP. Why will you spend so much time and money for a secured security system and leave it insecure. Try it and I am sure if all the above is not what you want, you will be satisfy with your local Video, which is stored local on your computer file.

Thanks for the information on this, it’s very useful and the site is great.
We live in a very different society compared to 20 years ago. I remember we used to leave the front door open at night and not be too bothered if we left the car doors/windows open (if there was no rain of course!) but how things have changed hey. We have a small business in Shropshire and have just installed a CCTV security system from Interwatch Security. We’re not that technical but they came in and recommended a certain type of camera and since the IP cameras have been installed and physically noticed outside our offices in Shrewsbury and Telford the number of incidents has been reduced. I wish I was back in the 80’s where surveillance was not an issue.
